Cry of Ecstasy
21 minute movie

Nine works by Junko Chodos hang in a museum. The violinist and composer, Malcolm Goldstein, spends three days meditating in the gallery, looking at the works. Then, before an audience of twenty-five viewers, he improvises on his violin in response to the works. The music is professionally recorded.

Later, the master cinematographer, Robert Primes ASC, comes to Junko's studio where the works are now on display. While listening to the recording, he photographs the works.

This 22-minute video is the result: no words, no actors - just a magical encounter of the artist, the musician, and the cinematographer.
